We had such wonderful rest at the base. The facilities are just beautiful. Breakfast with pancakes, fruit, bacon, and gallo pinto.

We took the microbus to Iglesia Oasis de Amor and for the 4th year in a row, had a powerful time in worship.  The pastor preached about the significance of the substitutionary atonement on the cross!  This year, instead of having a translator on the platform, they used an app that translated a translator in real time to our phones, and we listened through our headphones. It was very efficient and clear.

From there, we had lunch at New Beginnings. It was family day, and we were able to enjoy meeting some of the guys that are trying to improve their lives. It’s a 6-month rehab program based on the Celebrate Recovery curriculum.  The plan is to return here on Wednesday.

We traveled directly to Sylvio Mayorga, the neighborhood where we will be working for the remainder of the week. We got to meet our families, whom we had been praying for for several months.  It is only the second phase of this neighborhood. Each phase is 10 houses, so the neighborhood is just getting started. The families are very excited at the start. We look forward to getting to know them.

We returned to base, cleaned up, had dinner, and enjoyed cabana time in worship, prayer, and in the Word.  Everyone is excited to connect with these families.
