Up and at ‘em! Today we spent time with our families. We worked together to understand the plan for the week, and then we broke off into groups to spend some time getting to know each other.  It’s so amazing how much they love their beautiful Nicaragua!  They love their family!  And, they are so excited about their new home. We have begun to discuss faith, and what God’s word says about their Creator’s love toward them.  

Since we are the beginning of this group of 10 homes, we are starting with learning what the Bible says about creation.  By the end of their home building phase, they will have gone through the scope of the entire Bible. 

After small groups, we put our teams together, and all of us worked on blocks today.  Basically, we were building walls.  Side-by-side with the determined Nicas.  

We pretty much got 85% done with the bricks for the three houses.  We should be able to start framing out the sides today.  

We have a kids program (VBS) after lunch and had about 40 kids in attendance. It was a hit; our team did so well. 

By the time we got back to base in the evening, we were pretty beat up from heat and covered in concrete. After we cleaned up and had some dinner, we were tired, but our hearts were full.  We will repeat this on Tuesday.
